John is head over heels in
love with Miranda. The only problem is, he is married to Harriet, a bombastic
battleaxe who controls his every move. One evening when Harriet is out
he invites Miranda round for a cosy night in. As their passion grows,
so does their urge to eradicate Harriet for good. Together they concoct
a cunning plan to electrocute her by attaching a live wire to the washing
line and making it look like she was struck by lightening. After he sets
up the devious plot he returns to find the house occupied by an intruder.
He then grapples with the bungling burglar and manages to knock the felon
unconcious and obtains his gun. John and Miranda then decide to change
their original plan by lying in wait for Harriet, shooting her and then
blaming it on the unfortunate crook.
As the plot unfolds the couples complex plan is finally rumbled by the
somewhat incompetent Inspector Trewalas. As John and Miranda are lead
away into custody the domestically concious inspector decides to bring
in Harriet's washing, not realising that the line is still connected
to a high voltage cable.
